About:
ToneRite® is the manufacturer of a non-evasive electronic device that helps stringed instruments achieve their maximum tone that naturally occurs with years of constant play, in a matter of weeks.

In the words of the manufacturer:
A key to great tone is constantly playing-in your instrument. The ToneRite® is the world's most advanced and premier play-in device. Significantly accelerating the play-in process and providing increased tone, playability, and balance, the ToneRite®  makes all of this available in a nearly silent, high quality, and portable manner.

The secret behind the ToneRite® is its ability to continually produce and efficiently transfer vibrational energy into an instrument. ToneRite® safely recreates and magnifies the same physics that naturally occur while playing. This stimulation generates a change to the instrument's integrated components and increases the resonate together as a whole. Not only will your instrument sound better, but the notes themselves will come easier and allow for playing difficult passages with less fatigue. The ToneRite® will result in added volume with a fuller and more balanced sound.

Instructions from the manufacturer:
An initial ToneRite® treatment of 72-144 hours is recommended. It will be the first step in achieving your instrument's top potential. Subsequent treatments will be required to maintain and further develop your instrument. The ToneRite® is not designed to make a poor instrument great, it is simply designed to bring out the best in an instrument. Your instrument will retain its individual character, with enhanced balanced tone and playability.

Impression:
So… it all comes down to that question that haunts us guitar players when buying another guitar “do I spend the cash for vintage or buy new and break-her-in”. Recently I have taken on a new acoustic project and desperately needed a back up guitar for the “oh-sh*t” moments on stage and didn’t want to sacrifice tone. My main girl is a 2011 Taylor GS6 that I “broke-in” the old fashion way. I played her for hundreds of hours and when I was not playing her she sat in front of a speaker with loud music playing. This took over a year to get her where she is at today, and I really do not have the time to get the new girl up to speed. After spending a few days online looking at pricing for vintage guitars, I came to the harsh reality that I could not justify forking over upwards of $5,000 for a backup and I was going to have to go with something born on this side of the new millennium. I consulted Jimmy, Johnny, Jack, Jose and their new friend Tito about my woes… and in my stupor, while wandering the inter-webs I came across a forum that mentioned this product. Now I had heard about ToneRite® and some of their competitors in the past but always thought that is was just a bunch of horse sh*t, so I dug a little deeper, talked to a few friends and said “fu*k it, at this point I’ll try anything” and ordered one. That same day I also ordered my backup guitar, a 2006 Taylor GS5 that had not been played very much, but for a great price.

My 2006 Taylor GS5 Receiving a Treatment.
The Guitar arrived a few days before the ToneRite® and just like I imaged she had the unmistakable Taylor tone that I love, but with that proverbial "frog-in-the-throat" tightness preventing her true voice that comes with age to be heard. I knew that there was no way that I could return this guitar since it was a second-hand purchases, so she was going to be my backup regardless if the ToneRite® deviled or not. To be fair I did not play her for more than an hour before the 1st ToneRite® treatment so this review would be legit... so, to the review.

ToneRite® may look like a fish tank pump, but it really works. After a 72 hour treatment on the maximum setting, ToneRite® did not change the voice of my guitar, it matured it -- like a vocal coach would to his/her student. I was still getting that wonderful Taylor tone that makes my "boy parts" tingle, just now she has more individual note depth and clarity with more sustain and volume. The only way to describe it is that the "wet-towel" was removed from her soundboard allowing her to breath. I was so impressed with the outcome that my main guitar is now getting her 1st 72 hour treatment.

What I would change:
I would offer a preset mode that runs through all the different intensity levels on a timer that is set for 2 hours for a "wake-up" mode and the 72/144 for initial conditioning to insure that all the frequencies are "unlocked".

My advice:
If you are looking to "wake-up" an old friend that has been asleep for a while or give a mature voice to a youngin,  ToneRite® is an excellent option.
